The development of Ramsay SCRIBE is part of the 10-year digital transformation strategy of Ramsay, which relates to the scaling of the acceptance and application of AI tools to streamline workflows and reduce the administrative burden. In 2023, Ramsay tapped on Google Cloud as his data and innovation partner, in particular when building his core digital project, a centralized data shub on Bigquery.

Healthcare IT -Tieuws Speaked with Dr. Rachna Gandhi, Ramsay’s Chief Transformation, Digital and Data Officer for more information about Ramsay Scribe and how it was received by the staff. She explained how this technology added value to their service and shared similar digital projects in the pipeline.

V. What has the company encouraged to develop the tool?

A. Ramsay Health Care identified the need to improve the efficiency of clinical documentation and at the same time reduce the administrative burden for clinicians. By using AI-driven tools such as Ramsay SCRIBE, we want to improve workflow productivity, reduce burnout and be able to concentrate clinicians more on patient care instead of on paperwork. The growing progress in AI and speech-to-text technology offered the possibility to implement a solution that improves both accuracy and speed in documentation.

V. Which partners were involved?

A. We have collaborated with T-Pro, a supplier of AI-driven clinical documentation solutions, to develop and refine Ramsay Scribe. Their expertise in the field of speech recognition and large language models ensured that the tool was optimized for the clinical environment.

The most important thing is that we are concerned with our Frontline Healthcare Teams to ensure that the solution meets their needs, is practical, intuitive and seamlessly integrates into existing workflows.

V. What was the timeline of the work?

A. The development of Ramsay SCRIBE began in mid -2024 with first research and planning. Halfway through 2024 we moved to prototyping and testing, and then the pilot implementation began in January of this year. We are planning to continue our rollout on important sites in the coming months. This phased approach has enabled us to refine the tool based on feedback from the real clinicus and at the same time guarantee a smooth implementation.

V. What does Ramsay health care do not do that before?

A. Ramsay Scribe makes faster, more accurate clinical documentation possible, which reduces the time that clinicians spend on manual note.
