Overwatch 2 introduces Hero Bans in competitive fashion from season 16.

Widowmaker is overwhelming the best choice to be prohibited in community discussions.

Other popular choices are Ana, Zarya and Mercy.
Overwatch 2 gets Hero Bans, because Blizzard makes the biggest changes to the Hero Shooter since the original game was launched. From season 16, the competitive mode players can select a hero that nobody can choose the entire game.
This has been a much sought after function for years, and with Marvel rivals that implement it in higher ranks, it seems that Blizzard is finally convinced to try it out. It is not surprising that fans are already discussing which heroes they will forbid, and it is bad news for widow?

Widowmaker, Zarya and Mercy are popular choices for Hero Bans
While Reddit user Xalavine kicked the discussion by showing an interest in banning Zarya and Ana, is the rest of the community fast to collect the widow? Countless fans in the answers make the sniper their choice, and it is easy to see why.
“Every circuit and Havana card is a car -widowing,” says Adreme. “I want the experience to play these widow cards without a widow. I feel that the game will change.”
Many, many others agree. “I don’t want to play with a widow and I don’t want to play a play,” says Ironheart1183. “You get the great or the bad ones, and it just doesn’t create a good game for the game because you have to have one person aiming for the player.”
Although Widowmaker is the overwhelming favorite for Bans, there are also some other suggestions. “Hot Take: Mercy,” says Greenzombie04. “I can’t stand it.”
“I’m going to say Ana,” says Samepersonline. “I think she has the most utility as support and I wish her to be out of the line.”
We will have to wait and see if this will be reflected in the actual hero bans when the system goes live in season 16. First we have season 15, which starts on February 18. This will reduce Buitboxen and introduce a new hero, Freja.
