There is always something new to discover in Baldur’s Gate 3, which will probably stay true for many years. The latter discovery comes thanks to Saphyredark, who completed the epic of Larian Studios without recruiting party members or non-party union.
Because the player character has no allies, the epilogue party is more or less devoid of participants. Some ‘standard’ signs can still appear, such as Volo, Scratch and The Owlbear, but their presence has no influence on activating Witers ” ‘Lone Wolf’ dialogue.
Party of one
In his monologue, Withers congratulates the player with the essentially saving Faerun without help. This dialogue is different from its usual comments that encourage everyone to catch up on the last time and enjoy each other’s company. The rare dialogue is as follows:
You have arrived. Some call you “savior”. Others “adventurer” or “opponent.” But under the sky of this night, on familiar soil, you may just be called a friend. Although the weight of the rich was great, your shoulders wore them admirable. Take rest, because no kill will take your steps tonight, nor any God collects your duty. Go, dinner and enjoy the music that fills the air. – Withers
The idea that Withers are throwing a big party to congratulate the player on their thankless task to stop the Netherbrain is poetic. A few commentators have reported that they have activated this dialogue, even with party members present, so the exact conditions that are needed to say that this monologue is unknown. Usually Withers ends his monologue with “Go. Know each other again.”
A Solo -Run from Baldur’s Gate 3 is not the most common approach to finish the game, but it does offer some unique and humorous moments. During the Quest ‘Gere your your summally’ in the upper city of Act 3, the Flaming Fist Belterbrode normally gives an exciting speech to your collected allies who will be found dead in the neighborhood instead. Withers will then regret the lack of allies of the player and chase them on their bad diplomatie skills. At least I will always have you, withers.
The eighth and final patch of Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently undergoing private play tests, without no official release date confirmed. Larian has announced various functions for patch 8, including Crossplay, Photo mode and a new subclass for every playable class. Knowing Larian will probably also be a number of unannounced goodies.
