JP Crawford gets a hit from Seattle Mariners Ace Logan Gilbert in the camp

The Seattle Mariners officially merge during the second week of spring training in Peoria, Ariz.

18 February marked the first joint practice of the main class camp between the Mariners -Derwerpers (reported on 12 February) and the position players of the team. And two of the most respected players in the team went against each other during live perches.

Seattle Starting Shortstop JP Crawford went against ACE Starting pitcher Logan Gilbert. The live barriers were pitcher, Slagman and catcher without field players. Herinke coaches called balls and strikes.

Crawford received a hit from Gilbert in their face-off. The first covenant for a single to the left, according to a video from the Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times.

Crawford comes from a Down season where he had two respective stints on the injured list. He only hit .202 with nine home runs and 37 RBIs in 105 games. He hit .266 with 19 gays and 65 RBIs in 145 games the year before.

Gilbert had the opposite fortune as Crawford. The first made the first All-Star game of his career and had an ERA of 3.23 with 220 strikeouts in 208.2 Innings threw over 33 starts. He led the team in Strikeouts, the games started, quality start, threw innings and finished sixth in the American League Cy Young Voice.

Crawford is considered the “unofficial captain” of the Mariners. He is successively in the team than any other position player. Gilbert is considered the crown jewel of a start rotation that is perhaps the best in sport.

And early returns from spring training look good for both players.
