More than halfway his Rookie season in the NBA, Philadelphia 76ers Justin Edwards received a great honor in his hometown. The resident of Philly had his high school jersey retired.
With No. 3 no longer available at IMHOTEP, Edwards had the opportunity to keep his formed sweater for an energetic audience earlier this week and to get support from his star teammate, Joel Embiid, and his head coach, Nick Nurse.

Edwards has had the journey that leads to his Rookie season and played professionally for his hometown team.
At Imhotep, Edwards was a five -star recruitment in the eyes of all major recruitment platforms. He was recognized as a top 3 -reciprocity in front of his class. Edwards was committed to the NCAA season 2023-2024. He was seen as a potential first round pick for 2024 when his first -year season approached.
In Kentucky, Edwards 30 of the 32 games he played started. On average 21 minutes on the field, the attacker produced nine points and three rebounds per game. He shot 49 percent out of the field and left 37 percent of his shots outside.
Edwards decided to become a one -off prospect. After his first-year season in Kentucky, he hoped to be set up as a 20-year-old. Unfortunately, two rounds went without calling.
The Sixers acquired Edwards after the design. As an unsigned prospect, Edwards held a two -way agreement with the 76 people. Although he didn’t play much at the start of the season, injuries Edwards gave the chance to start playing more. He deserved a role after presenting what he could bring to the table.
At this point Edwards had his contract converted and he is no longer a two -way player. During the All-Star break he has 25 games under his belt, nine of which start. The Rookie has produced eight points, three rebounds and one assist per match. He shot 46 percent and 36 percent of three so far.
