A body that corresponds to the description of a missing student from the University of Colorado was found on Saturday morning in “hard -to -reach site” in Boulder County, officials said.
Megan Trussell, 18, was missing on Thursday by the police of the University of Colorado. She was last seen in her residence on 9 February, according to the university.
Trussell’s parents told NBC branch Kusa in Denver that they contacted the police on Wednesday after they realized that their daughter did not respond to their messages. After checking her daughter’s telephone account, Vanessa Diaz, Trussell’s mother, told Kusa that her phone had not been used since 9 February at 8:45 PM
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation published a missing activation of an indigenous person for Trussell on Friday.
The Sheriff’s Office of Boulder County released a statement on Saturday stating that a body that corresponds to the description of a missing CU Boulder student found near the 40-Mile Marker of Boulder Canyon Drive, about 14 minutes from the Campus .
The office of the Sheriff and the office of Boulder County’s coroner conduct a joint investigation with regard to the cause of death, according to the statement.
Boulder Canyon Drive was temporarily closed to enable researchers to restore the body and due to dangerous road conditions created by the weather. The body was found in “difficult to reach terrain, which requires a technical evacuation, including the need to recall,” said the Sheriff office.

The University of Colorado Boulder released a statement on Saturday in which they inform their campus about the discovery.
“The loss of a member of our community influences our campus. Our hearts go to family, friends and members of the community of those we lose, “said the university. “We also have support sources available in the coming days, weeks and months to support members of the community in processing sadness.”
